Anita Choudhrie Chooses Corporate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament for ‘Path to Success’ Event

Wheelchair basketball is not only physically demanding, but requires an amalgamation of skills such as teamwork, leadership and quick thinking. Anita Choudhrie’s charity Path to Success is organising a wheelchair basketball tournament for corporate companies, who’ll play alongside Team GB Paralympians, at a venue which once held the Olympics in support of their current charity, the London Titans.

The event will be held at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Tuesday, April 26th and the donations will be used in the development of one of the UK’s most popular wheelchair basketball teams, the London Titans – the charity whom Path to success has chosen to support over a two-year period.

Anita Choudhrie, founder of Path to Success, shared how the sport will help the teams: “Our goal for the day is to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues can experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time.”

“We are offering a unique experience to get away from the office and create lasting memories, while also raising money for an exceptional cause.”
To raise the competitive spirits on the day, Ann Wild OBE, a five-time Team GB Paralympian will train the teams. Team GB players will also display their skills at the event.

The games will be held from 9 am- 5 pm on two courts simultaneously and the final two teams will challenge each other for the champion’s title. A voluntary minimum donation of £5,000 or above is expected from the participating teams.

Sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching of the London Titans would utilise that money. The team has produced over 50 Team GB players in history and has never received any central sports funding.
